Tex-Mex Pulled Pork Burger

Bring the taste of Tex-Mex to your home with MelCo Food's Pulled Pork. Soft, tender, juicy pork, seasoned with aromatic Tex-Mex herbs and spices, served on a sweet toasted brioche bun, and crispy, fresh slaw - for an authentic Tex-Mex experience!

Equipment

  • Measuring Spoons

Ingredients

  • 500g MelCo Food's Pulled Pork

For Spice Mix

  • 1 tbs cumin powder
  • 1 tbs ground coriander seeds
  • 1 tbs mild paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

For Slaw

  • 1/8 red cabbage, shredded
  • 1/8 green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 cup whole egg mayonnaise
  • 1 tbs American mustard
  • 2 tbs apple cider vinegar
  • Salt, sugar, cracked black pepper to taste

To Serve

  • 4 brioche buns, halved and toasted
  • Crinkle cut pickles
  • 400gm straight cut chips
  • 4 oak lettuce leaves

Method

For Slaw

  1. Combine red cabbage, green cabbage, carrot, mayonnaise, mustard, and vinegar. Mix well.
  2. Season with salt, sugar, and black pepper to taste.

For Spice Mix

  1. Combine cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder. Mix well.

For Pulled Pork

  1. Place a medium-sized non-stick frying pan on medium heat with a tablespoon of oil. Once heated add in MelCo Food's Pulled Pork and season with spice mix to taste. Mix well and fry for 4-6 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Take off heat and set to the side, covered with aluminium foil to keep warm.

To Serve

  1. Start compiling your burger! On a toasted brioche bun, start with a leaf of oak lettuce, then slaw, then a helping of pulled pork, then top with crinkle cut pickles. Serve with a side of chips and enjoy!
